Summer Reading List

Yay!! School is out for the summer...well almost anyway. Just a few administrative days left. And I have a lot to get done, but it is that planning, organizing kind of work that I really enjoy!

But as I gear up for an eventful summer, I am making my to-do list and reading list.

The to-do list might be a little boring to read but here is some of it...
  1. Clean the baseboards
  2. Stain the deck
  3. Iron that huge pile of clothes
  4. Purge, purge, purge
  5. DON'T buy a new car
  6. Scan all my pictures into smugmug
  7. Shop for some wall decor
  8. Plan my reading curriculum for next year
  9. Study my weather unit, so I will know a little more than my students next year
  10. Finish cross-stitching Matt's baby sampler!!

One of the things I look most forward to in the summer are days of reading. Here is a sampling of what I have planned

Lunch in Paris

So Long Insecurity

The Help

(yes, I have already read this once, but it's that good!)

A Car Seat in My Convertible

A Million Miles in a Thousand Years

The Carolinas, Georgia and the South

South of Broad

Feathers From My Nest

The Christian Grandma's Idea Book

Eudora Welty Collection

Really though, all of the above books and chores are just to keep me busy until Charlotte gets here!!

Just think how much more fun a new pool would be instead of a new car :)

BTW, you will love the Donald Miller book. I'd love to borrow Lunch in Paris when you finish it.
