Yesterday we harvested our first big tomato from our little garden. I have been waiting and watching for weeks for those big green things to turn red already! It was huge and the taste did not disappoint. It has been years since I had tasted a tomato like the ones I remembered from Mayme's house each summer. We would slice one on a plate, salt and pepper it, and it was a meal.
The flavor is just not replicated in the ones you buy in the grocery today. Okay, enough about the tomato already.
So for supper last night I bought some thick sliced bacon and some texas toast bread. I made some herbed mayonnaise. And we had the best BLT sandwiches I can remember having!
Guess what we are having again tonight?? Maybe with a slice of cheddar?
I know the picture is not in focus. I need Sarah around to take my food pictures! I realized in the middle of my meal that I wanted to post about the sandwich and I had already eaten half of it! So I stopped, got my camera, and started taking pictures.
I could not get it to focus. I tried and tried. Different distances. Different lighting. Nothing worked. Finally David asked me to please come back to the table and finish my meal!!
